Even if you stay the same, the world won't. My dad had basically the same job his whole life. As a pro photographer or videographer in 2018, you won't have the same luxury. Our jobs change every year, and if you don't keep up, you probably won't get to keep your job. If you're wildly successful today, you'll probably still be doing well next year - but in five years, everything you've built could be gone. My advice: Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Keep one foot firmly grounded in what's working for you today, but move your other foot forward. Keep track of upcoming trends by staying close to young people and watching how they interact with photos and videos. Experiment, jump on the latest trends, and have fun.
