In this video, I will show you Samsung Space Monitor review we will look at the pros and cons of this new product from Samsung. The Space Monitor is available in two sizes: 27 and 32 inches. For this test, I was using the larger screen.

The main difference between the two versions apart from their size is the highest supported resolution. The 27-inch screen supports QHD(2560x1440) at 144Hz refresh rate, while the 32-inch screen goes up to UHD(3840x2160) at 60Hz. For the maximum refresh rate, your graphics card will need to support HDMI 2.0. The HDMI cable included in the box is naturally 2.0 compatible.

The most unique feature of the screen is without a doubt the clamp type stand and the powerful hinge built into it. The installation is very simple and straight-forward. I appreciated the concealed cables and the way the HDMI and power cables were joint together to further emphasize the simplistic aesthetics of the screen.

The clamp can be adjusted to fit up to 3.5 inch or 9 cm table thickness, which should be compatible with most desk types, but it is important to check the back of your desk before purchasing the screen as you could encounter difficulties fixing it.

Once everything is in place you can really admire the main selling point of the Space Monitor, which is its space-saving aspect. The panel is very slim and it’s almost completely bezel-less on the top, left and right, which makes the screen looks really stylish.

The biggest drawback of the stand is the restriction in movements compared to a traditional screen.  This older Eizo screen for instance has horizontal tilt, height adjustment without forced distance change and also rotation to support portrait format.

In return you really gain a lot of deskspace thanks to unique stand design. I have the tendency to surround myself with additional screens, tablets, books, notepads so I really appreciate the extra space and I actually felt like I could work with the screen pushed all the way back.

The quality of the screen and its colours are really good. It has a 100% sRGB coverage and it offers the standard settings for adjustments. Naturally, if you are using it for working on photographs, illustration or graphic design, it is highly recommended to calibrate it and some users would probably prefer an even higher colour gamut that covers 100% Adobe RGB.

To sum up I feel like Samsung did a great job innovating and coming up with a fresh and unique stand design that can really make a difference in terms of free desk space. The almost bezel-less design, thin panel and hidden cables make this a very stylish and decorative monitor. It’s light but also feels sturdy and its push and pull height-adjustment is unique and useful.
