Powerful Trick to Change Any Color to White or Black in Photoshop

Swapping Colors amongst any color in Photoshop, except for white or black, is easy as a pie, but when it comes to involving these two colors, things get complex. In this video, we'll discover a powerful technique to change any color other than white or black to white or black without making any precise selections or performing any of the hard work, that too, non-destructively!

We are going to utilize the power of Black and White adjustment layer to darken or lighten any color to black or white very efficiently. At times, this may need an extra step. For instance, you may have a blue shirt in your image and you want to change it to white, however, you also have a blue cup in the photo. Therefore, changing the color of the shirt will also affect the cup which you might not want. In that case, we will have to perform a little bit of masking here and there, but nothing very serious.

You might also find yourself in a fix when you don't find the slider for your color. Maybe you have a purple object that you would like to change, but there are no purple sliders. What to do then? Well, we'll dive into how to use a combination of multiple sliders in adjustment layer to target the color of your choice. In this case, Magenta and Blue add up to give purple and hence we have to deal with these two sliders.
