Laura Roumanos is the executive producer and co-founder of United Photo Industries and Photoville where she has produced over 400 photo exhibitions and public projects throughout the world. Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, Roumanos worked as a Producer and Arts Administrator before making the big move to NYC, to join the Manhattan Theatre Club. She then headed over to St. Ann’s Warehouse as the General Manager for several years where she worked to help present and produce large-scale international theatre, music, and art events. She’s also the co- producer for the New York Times Portfolio Reviews, which is in its 6th year at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. While spearheading UPI over the past several years, Roumanos has also worked as the Senior Producer of Creative Time, Senior Producer of The Future of StoryTelling, and recently has been moonlighting as the Line Producer and Director of Operations for the World Science Festival. She also continues to consult, manage, and produce numerous theatrical shows and events throughout New York City with artists such as Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Spike Jonze, Bryce Dessner (The National), Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Brooklyn Youth Chorus amongst many others. Roumanos is often sought by the New York Arts scene for consultation and advice regarding public art and multi-disciplinary projects across all artistic platforms.

United Photo Industries is a New York based art-presenting organization that works to promote a wider understanding and increase access to the art of photography. Founded in 2011, United Photo Industries has rapidly solidified its position in the public art landscape by consistently showcasing thought- provoking, challenging, and exceptional photography from across the globe. Proudly devoted to cultivating strategic partnerships, creative collaborations, and community spirit, United Photo Industries has presented dozens of exhibitions and public art installations across the United States and worldwide in partnership with numerous festivals, city agencies, and not-for-profit organizations. United Photo Industries is also the producer of Photoville – the largest annual photographic event in NYC which saw over 90,000 visitors in it’s 6th year in 2017 in Brooklyn Bridge Park and featured over 75 exhibitions, Talks, workshops, night time projections and 100 partners, all free to the public over 2 weeks – and co-producer of the Tokyo International Photography Festival in Tokyo, Japan.
