As to 'will the client tell the difference' - here is a little demo. I just shared two images of Steph in the bamboo on social media, asking people to guess which was a $500 lens and which was $1500. People guessed both ways roughly 50/50, some went into detail about one being a longer lens, or why one was CLEARLY the more expensive. Truth is - I shared two images from f1.8G lens. Even keyboard experts often see what they want to see, and it is much more to do with how you took the shot, than the specific equipment - at least when sharing online.
